How It Works

Let’s say you need painting, but not just any painting. You have a Victorian home with 4 colors and dry-rot in some areas.

Step 1. When you login to ratemycontractor, search for painters.

In the search results you will see which contractors in your area have been highly rated by other members. The result will also tell you :

-         each company current rating

-         how many reports the have received

-         their contact information

-         if the have won any awards

Step 2. Click on a company name to see their full profile

This will give you a chance to see the companies detailed ratings. You will know on average what members have rated them in the categories of

You'll also be able to read about the specific types of services they perform (this is where you find out if they'll work on a Victorian with lead paint), their hours of operation, how long they've been in business, the forms of payment they accept and whether or not they offer free estimates.

Step 3. What makes us truly unique.

From the company profile, you can click to read about each member real-life experience with the company one report at a time. All the details are laid out for you including my favorite section – above and beyond. This is where the member has a chance to tell you if the contractor truly was outstanding and did something “above and beyond” that really made their work stand out. Click here to see a sample.
